In 1992, the collection began after a woman by the name of Priscilla Hillman and her drawings of the bears were discovered. The famous Enesco Company took on her work and transformed the pictures of these loveable bears into figurines. Every Cherished Teddies figurine comes with a special certificate of adoption, which the new owner can send in to the Cherished Teddies Adoption Center, where the bear gets registered.
